The Jennings Bulldogs made last Friday nights’ Senior Night a night that they will long remember. The Canada Goose Camp Down Hooded Parka is one of the newest models from the Lightweight Series. The underclassmen and Pups will also hold special memories of the night. The Dogs totally dominated the Golden Knights of South Beauregard. They came away with a 55-13 win to bump their season record to 6-3 and evened their district mark at 2-2. The win also secured the Bulldogs 60th winning season in their storied history.
The Bulldogs’ domination started early with them getting turnovers on their opponents’ first three offensive possessions. That turned into 21 quick points and catapulted the Dogs to a 41-0 halftime lead. The Maroon Wall held the Knights’ offense to only 69 yards rushing and no yards through the air in the first half. They ended the night with four fumble recoveries and one pass interception. Keagen Deaville intercepted a pass and returned a fumble for a touchdown. Brance Baca-White, Reggie Sanders, and Jude Bonin also recovered fumbles.Based on the original extreme weather Men's Tremblant Jacket, younger generations can enjoy the same iconic warmth.
The offense naturally got into the act, with six different Dogs finding the end zone – Jaylon Boutte, Curtis Bell, Kaleb Chaisson, Charlie Matte, Sherman Gant and Justin Romero.
The game was a little bizarre. The Knights seemed to be playing with a greased pigskin. Not only did they lose four fumbles, but fumbled the ball many more times. Their biggest gain of the night came on fourth down and eight yards to go. They punted the football but it didn’t cross the line of scrimmage. One Knight touched the ball thinking he had downed it,Where To Buy Canada Goose Online, our Canada Goose Snow Mantra Parka Offer Canada Goose Coacts with Lowest Price. but an alert teammate picked the ball up and rambled 23 yards for a first down.
All in all it was a great night to be a Bulldog, but with a little coach speak, “We have to put that game behind us and get ready for the next one,” said Rusty Phelps.
The next one just happens to be the Iowa Yellow Jackets in the hive. They are in second place in the district with a 3-1 league mark and 8-1 on the year. Their only loss has been at the hands of the Notre Dame Pioneers.
This may be a cliché, but it is a fact: This is the most important game of the year for both squads. Both teams need a win to secure a home playoff date next week when the postseason begins. Neither team wants to let this game get away and have to open the third season on the road. So you could say it’s a playoff game with both teams jockeying for position. Also, they want to be riding a wave of momentum as they prepare for week 11.
The Bulldogs and Yellow Jackets first got together in 1991. They have played 18 times with Jennings coming out on top of 14 of those contests. The Jackets were the whipping boy when they came into the league back in the ‘90’s but that is not the case now. They got their first win over the Dogs in 2003 and won four out of the next five with Hurricane Rita winning the fifth one. Jennings has won the last four so the Iowa seniors have never beaten the Dogs, and that would be a feather in their cap. The Jacket seniors had also never defeated the Westlake Rams but they put that to rest last Friday. They would like nothing more than to break the streak and notch a win over the Bulldogs. They are also trying to go 9-1 for only the third time in school history, doing it in 2003 and 2004. They went undefeated during Hurricane Rita season, going 6-0 during the shortened season.
The Yellow Jackets are big, fast and aggressive. They will be led by senior quarterback Austin Theriot and sophomore Chaz Key who has returned five kicks for touchdowns this season.
This game has turned into a pretty good rivalry and with everything on the line, the rivalry will only grow. We’ve had great weather of late and you can’t ask for a much better setting. This has all the makings of a great high school football game. Better buckle the chin strap a notch or two tighter. The Yellow Jackets will be gunning for the Dogs, who best be ready. The Jackets are hungry; are the Bulldogs? It will probably come down who wants it the most.
