That's what humanitarian organization Empowerment Plan has decided to create in order to help Downtown Detroit homeless people. As part of its support, GM bought 2000 yards of car-insulation scraps and donated them to Empowerment Plan founder Veronika Scott.

This fabric, used to as interior insulating material in the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick Verano, is also waterproof; it will be used as insulating material for the production of more than 400 jackets that can be transformed into sleeping-bags, which will be handed out to some of the many homeless in that city, giving them a fighting chance over the cold winter months.

Mrs. Scott employs eight homeless women full-time in order to produce these jackets, at a rate of 150 per month. What's more, because of this donation, GM also helps reduce the volume of waste created at its production facilities. Hats-off to these two organizations for this great initiative!

It is safe to say that Jean-Pierre Braganza had one of the best Spring 2013 Ready To Wear collections, debuting on Friday during the first day of London Fashion Week. This doesn't surprise anyone due to his brilliant design and vision for his collections. This collection was full of beautiful colors, asymmetrical structuring, and made for women with curves.

Braganza is known for his sharpness and attention to detail, and the opening pieces of his Spring Collection were reminiscent of his signature style. The opening pieces boasted of remixes tuxedo jackets, which were sleeveless and nipped at the waist to emphasize the waistline. There was also a structural tailored top and shift dress with the same sharpness Braganza has always capitalized on.

The collection played on a great light vs dark theme, as well as the popular masculinity vs femeninity them many of the London designers have been utilizing for their Spring collections. The collection also boasted of bold, eye popping fiery red, blues, and tan, giving the signature origami style Braganza uses a bold playful twist. This collection is definitely going to be one of the favorites among the working woman, because the pieces from start to finish make for great day to night transition.
